BEMIDJI — An opening reception for the exhibition, "Marley Kaul: Retrospective" will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4, at Bemidji State's Talley Gallery.

This special exhibition features nearly 50 original paintings by acclaimed artist Marley Kaul — including many never-before-seen works — highlighting his exploration of color, movement, texture and form, a release said.

Attendees are invited to experience this poignant retrospective that traces Kaul's 60-year artistic journey from 1961 to 2020. Curated from works featured in his new book, "Paintings," this exhibit offers a rare look into the evolution of one of Minnesota’s most respected painters, added the release.
