On Aug. 25, bus drivers gathered for the Wolf Creek Public Schools' (WCPS) division's annual Bus Driver Start-Up Meeting.

The meeting acted as a refresher and a welcome event that brought new and returning drivers together to prepare for the 2025/26 school year.

During the meeting, important updates and safety reviews were discussed.

The event also provided the WCPS Transportation Department the opportunity to thank drivers for the vital role they play in getting students to and from school each day.

In the WCPS division, there are 92 routes every morning and afternoon that transport nearly 4,000 students daily.

"School bus drivers are often the first and last school staff our students see every day,” WCPS Transportation Director Betty Clark said.
