Governor Mike Dunleavy announced a new agreement between the State of Alaska and the Federal Permitting Improvement Steering Council to streamline the permitting process for major infrastructure projects.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the first of its kind between the Permitting Council and a U.S. state, was initiated during discussions at the Alaska Sustainable Energy Conference. It allows Alaska to collaborate with the Council under the FAST-41 framework, which offers more efficient and transparent federal permitting for qualifying projects.

“This agreement is another step toward unlocking Alaska’s full potential,” Dunleavy said, emphasizing the need to reduce bureaucratic delays in project approvals.
