GRAND FORKS — A Grand Forks woman has been accused of distributing fentanyl to other inmates at the Grand Forks County Correctional Center.

Megan Kelly Thorsen, 31, is charged with Class A felony delivery of a controlled substance in a correctional facility. The crime has a maximum 20-year prison sentence.

On Tuesday, Aug. 26, correctional officers at the jail observed Thorsen sitting at the phone, seemingly nodding off and under the influence of a controlled substance, according to a declaration of probable cause summary filed in the case. Two additional women appeared to be under the influence, as they were also observed nodding off, the summary said. They later allegedly admitted to using fentanyl.
