FLINT, MI -- The oversight board of the Flint Housing Commission is asking Mayor Sheldon Neeley to start the process of removing Commissioner Geraldine Redmond, who received public housing agency funds to purchase supplies but failed to provide receipts.

The request from the board that oversees public housing in Flint comes more than four months after MLive-The Flint Journal first reported that from 2020 to 2023, Redmond received more than $9,000 in checks from what was thought to be a dormant Housing Commission bank account.
