Victoria Police Chief Const. Del Manak will formally pass the command of VicPD to new Chief Const. Fiona Wilson, on Thursday afternoon.

Manak has worked at VicPD for more than 30 years, and served in the top cop position for nearly a decade.

He took over as interim police chief in 2016, after former VicPD chief Frank Elsner resigned following numerous allegations of misconduct, before taking over the role permanently in 2017.

During his time as chief, he led the police department through the COVID-19 pandemic, dueling housing and toxic drug crises, and personnel challenges.
