LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A man is in jail and facing kidnapping and auto theft charges after police say he stole a Chevy Trailblazer with a nine-month-old child inside.
According to the arrest report, the parents of the child said they left the SUV running with the child inside while they walked away. When they were far enough away, they said a black man with dreads, who was later identified by police as suspect Brandon Conley, got into the Chevy and drove off with the child still inside.
A few minutes later, LMPD received a call for service from Jewish Hospital where staff said a man matching the description from the parents arrived and dropped off the infant before fleeing the scene.
Officers located the truck and were able to stop it after a short pursuit and took Conley into custody
