A man on a bicycle was fatally struck by a vehicle in Santa Ana, police said Thursday.

The crash was reported at 11:35 p.m. Wednesday on Grand Avenue at Grovemont Street, according to a Santa Ana Police Department spokeswoman.

The bicyclist, whose name and age were not immediately available, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver stopped as required by law and cooperated with the investigation, which turned up no evidence of impairment, police said.

All lanes of Grand were closed for several hours between Fairhaven and Santa Clara avenues for the emergency response and investigation.
