A 23-year-old man suspected in a Seal Beach shooting was taken into custody, police announced Thursday.

Angel Alcozar of Oxnard was arrested Wednesday in connection with the shooting that occurred Aug. 21 on Marina Drive, according to the Seal Police Department.

Alcozar was booked into the Orange County Jail on suspicion of assault with a firearm and shooting at an occupied vehicle or dwelling. It remains unclear what sparked the shooting.

“Thanks to the hard work of our patrol officers, detectives, and our law enforcement partners, a dangerous individual has been taken off the street,” Seal Beach Police Chief Michael Henderson said in a statement.
