KALAMAZOO, MI –– For Tate Hallock, a son of Michigan State legacy, it’s almost second nature to storm out of the tunnel, turn right and join the home sideline at Spartan Stadium.

But on Friday, he’ll turn left.

For Hallock, that simple turn carries a weight far beyond direction –– it marks a homecoming steeped in emotion and legacy. After four years playing at Michigan State, Hallock will enter Spartan Stadium in uncharted territory as the opposition, donning the brown and gold of Western Michigan. He’ll face his former team on the very field he grew up at, in a stadium that holds echoes of his family’s Spartan history.
