WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - Watertown City Council Member Lisa Ruggiero leaves the door open to running against for a city seat in 2027.

Ruggiero didn’t finish in the top four positions in the June primary election and won’t be on the November ballot.

At the 7NEWS Digital News Desk, Ruggiero admitted write-in campaigns don’t usually result in a win, but she will write-in her name in November, and encourages others to do the same.

Then when asked if she is thinking about running again in 2027 for city council or even as mayor, a term to start in 2028, Ruggiero didn’t say no.

Ruggiero told 7NEWS, “Well we’ll see. It depends on what happens between now and then. I have to see how people are receptive to me in two years.”
