Major changes are coming to the recreation landscape across Chatham-Kent with plans that include replacing aging arenas and pools with modern multi-million dollar facilities, with many on one site.
The process to develop Chatham-Kent’s new parks and recreation master plan began last year and details on more than 80 recommendations are ready to go to the public. An open house is being held at the John D. Bradley Centre on Sept. 23 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to provide details on the proposed plan before it returns to Chatham-Kent council in November for final approval.
A primer on the draft plan was presented to council Monday where Ian Clark, manager of parks, recreation and cemeteries, outlined some of the “more impactful” capital developments, many of which are being driven by demand
