BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) -- Bloomington City Mayor Dan Brady is encouraging residents to give back to the community in honor of Labor Day.
As part of a new initiative, the mayor is challenging those in Bloomington to find time this holiday weekend to volunteer, said city spokesperson Katherine Murphy.
“Labor Day celebrates the value of hard work,” said Mayor Brady. "One of the best ways we can honor that tradition is by serving others. I’m challenging everyone in Bloomington to roll up their sleeves and volunteer. Whether it’s an hour or a full day, every effort makes a difference."
