SMITHFIELD – Two educators at Old County Road Elementary School were recognized for their outstanding contributions last week, with School Committee members praising them and the schools for their outstanding work.

During the Aug. 21 meeting, the School Committee recognized grade 3 teacher Dorothy Corbeille as the 2025 Teacher of the Year and Alyson LaGreca as 2025 Education Support Professional of the Year.

Teachers were nominated and selected by peers, students, parents, faculty, administration, and staff.

Supt. Dawn Bartz said Corbeille creates a true sense of family in the classroom. She said Corbeille consistently goes above and beyond to create a classroom environment that is welcoming, inclusive, and filled with joy and curiosity. She said the district is proud of Corbeille.
