CUMBERLAND – Before students head back to classes for the 2025-2026 school year, officials are putting the finishing touches on several construction projects happening at every school building, according to Supt. Philip Thornton.

To start, the upper floor of the transitional building has been renovated at Cumberland High School and opened back up for use once all elementary students are back in their schools.

New LED lights have also been added throughout the high school, and pool repairs have also been completed.

Students from Community School will be moving back to their temporary space at the transitional building.

The Cumberland Pre-School Center will be moving from its temporary location at Community School to a permanent home at the newly renovated transitional building.
