SWEA CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - As students head back to school across Iowa, thousands are doing so with more than just books on their minds.
For some families, in rural districts, food insecurity remains a daily challenge. Especially on weekends when school meals aren’t available. But, one young entrepreneur is stepping up, one snack at a time.
Not many entrepreneurs can say they have four years of business experience by the age of 20. But for Kadin Walter, what started as a high school project is now giving back to the school he once called home.
“The business started as my FFA SAE project back when I was about 16 years old,” said Walter.
From its humble beginnings on the family farm, the operation has grown beyond expectations.
