SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — In less than a month, a group of South Dakotans will begin their journey from one side of the state to the other on foot.
Lisa Lemon is one of twelve runners preparing to run across South Dakota, 437 miles from the west side to the east.
"I'm super excited for the challenge, and I'm just reminding myself why I'm doing this," Lemon said.
Lemon is a part of this year's 437 Project team. Since its start 2022, its goal is to raise awareness about mental health.
"At that time, the twelve runners were simply people who just thought that this would be something that would be kind of a neat endeavor or something that would be neat to be a part of," The 437 Project coordinator, Kelly Marshall, said.
The group starts at the western state line and finishes in Sioux Fal
