Coventry City Council is considering plans to build 300 new homes on the site of the Coventry Transport Museum . Officials say they are looking to 'free up' the building on Hales Street.

Established in 1980, Coventry Transport Museum has ever-changing exhibitions featuring cars, cycles, and motorcycles from its own collection and beyond. It showcases more than 670 vehicles and is home to the Thrust SSC and Thrust 2, the two fastest cars in the world.

But CoventryLive has learned that the Hales Street attraction could be sold by Coventry City Council . It will be replaced by 300 homes if plans are given the go-ahead.
