LUMBERTON — All three sets of Thursday’s volleyball match between Lumberton and Pine Forest were close midway through. In all three of them, the Pirates were the better team late in the set, and in each of them Lumberton won, sweeping the Trojans in the nonconference match.
“(We were) just playing together and playing our game, playing how we knew to play,” Lumberton’s Giselle Leach said.
The Pirates improved to 7-0 on the season, while Pine Forest dropped to 0-7, having played a difficult schedule through the season’s first three weeks.
