Reform UK is poised to introduce a new flag policy for warwickshire -county-council> Warwickshire County Council next week, granting one councillor "sole discretion" over what flags are flown. The decision, brought forward by the controlling party at Shire Hall, will be made by the cabinet on Thursday, 4 September, rather than by the full council where all party councillors would have a say.

This issue gained national attention in June when Councillor George Finch (Reform UK, Bedworth Central), who was interim leader at the time and is now permanent leader, asked chief executive Monica Fogarty to remove the Progress Pride flag that had been raised for Pride month. Ms Fogarty, the authority's most senior officer, declined to comply with this request.
