On September 1, Kenya Airways will begin Nairobi-Paris CDG-Amsterdam-Nairobi flights. Unfortunately, but unsurprisingly, fifth freedom traffic rights are not available between the two European airports and major SkyTeam hubs. Due to some of the airline's Boeing 787s remaining grounded, the triangular operation will help overcome the frequency reduction to Paris while still ensuring an early morning departure from Nairobi.
It will be Kenya Airways' only one-stop European service. Its setup is quite different from the much larger Ethiopian Airlines, which revolves around one-stop flights. However, Kenya Airways has had various such links in the past, most recently in 2020, when it flew Nairobi-Geneva-Rome-Nairobi. In the 1990s, I flew one of its Airbus A310s on a fift
