ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WCSC) - The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office is set to provide updates on the crash that led to the death of a South Carolina Highway Patrol trooper.

Sheriff Leroy Ravenell will speak with reporters Friday morning at 11 a.m.

Trooper First Class Dennis Ricks, 30, died on Aug. 13 , three days after he was hit by a box truck during a traffic stop.

The crash happened in the early hours of Aug. 10, on Interstate 26 in Orangeburg County when Ricks was struck by a box truck.

Investigators said they charged the driver of the truck, whom they identified as 45-year-old Anthony Aydlette, of Hanahan, with driving under suspension.
