JENKINS, Ky. (WYMT) - The Jenkins Police Department reports that they investigated a possible threat to Jenkins Independent School late Thursday night.

After investigating, police determined the threat was not credible.

As a precaution, extra security was in place on Friday morning. That included the use of metal detecting wands and locker checks.

Police said student safety is their top priority and thanked the school for its quick response.
