PERRY Co., Ky. (WYMT) - Kentucky River District Health Department Public Health Director Scott Lockard was recently honored with a major award.

Lockard received his award at the National Meeting of the National Association of City and County Health Officials in Anaheim, California.

He was awarded the 2025 National Champion of Governmental Public Health Award. It is a prestigious honor, taking applications from public health directors throughout the nation who have made a difference in the communities and states that they serve.

Lockard said Aug. 20th marked 35 years since he started his career in public health.
