KEANSBURG, New Jersey (WABC) -- First responders helped rescue three children from a house fire in Keansburg on Friday morning.
It happened just after 10 a.m. at a home on Seeley Avenue.
As officers arrived they saw smoke coming out of the windows and three children trying to exit the home.
Witnesses say two police officers arrived early and coaxed the three children to jump out of the second-floor window.
"I actually was standing there watching my officers catch three young juveniles and they did a great job, I'm thankful that the juveniles are OK," said Dep. Chief Bryan King with the Keansburg Police Department. "It was a very tough situation to get into the apartment with all the smoke, there was a heavy smoke condition. Officers and firemen were having a very hard time getting in.
