CLARKSBURG (WV News) — The first day of the 46th annual West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival began Friday on a somber note, with a brief tribute to John G. Miller.

Miller, the executive editor of WV News who passed away Tuesday, was recognized for his many years of service to the Clarksburg community and his support of the festival.

Bill Boyles, chairman of the WVIHF Board of Directors, memorized Miller during his opening remarks before the assembled crowd in downtown Clarksburg.
