Police out of Saanich and Toronto are on the lookout for a pair of fraud suspects linked to an incident that occurred on Vancouver Island in June.

Investigators with the Saanich Police Department and Toronto Police Services are looking for a man and a woman who allegedly obtained funds from a victim based in Toronto, who then deposited the money at a bank in Saanich’s Hillside area in the 3000 block of Shelbourne Street on June 11.

The male suspect is described as having a slim build, black hair and short black beard. He was wearing black pants, a grey, zip-up hoodie and “what appears to be a Canucks baseball hat,” said Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers in a social media post Friday.
