Coventry City goalkeeper Brad Collins has joined League One Burton Albion on a season-long loan in a clear signal of the player's future at the CBS Arena.

The 28-year-old, who joined the Sky Blues from Barnsley two years ago, has struggled to cement his position in the team under both Mark Robins and Frank Lampard, and endured a particularly difficult run of form last season.

That prompted the club to recruit a new keeper this summer, with Carl Rushworth arriving on loan from Premier League Brighton and immediately establishing himself as Lampard's first choice stopper. With Ben Wilson preferred as current understudy and back-up from the bench, Collins has slipped down the pecking order.
