ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Greece man is facing charges after police said he tried to cash a fraudulent check Thursday afternoon.

Officers responded around just after 12:30 p.m. to Tompkins Bank on Long Pond Road, where they detained 31-year-old Cody Thomas.

Investigators said Thomas attempted to cash a forged check and is suspected of trying similar crimes at multiple banks in Geneseo, Leroy, Caledonia and other locations the day before.

Thomas is charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and fourth-degree attempted grand larceny. He was arraigned and remains in custody at the Monroe County Jail.
