BLUE RIVER, Ore. - The mystery surrounding a 47-year-old Blue River man’s disappearance in 2021 has taken a new turn with recent DNA confirmation, according to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office.
LCSO officials said that partial remains found in the McKenzie drainage area in June 2023 were confirmed on Aug. 28 to be that of Shane Sprenger. A bone fragment discovered in September 2023 was also identified as Sprenger’s after DNA testing at Bode Technology in Virginia. The Lane County Sheriff’s detectives are actively investigating this case, authorities said.
