The City of Lacombe is rethinking the location of a new fire hall after neighbourhood pushback.
Council approved a motion this week calling on administration to pause work on the development of the fire hall at 4410 Woodland Drive to consider other options.
Lacombe Flying Club will be approached to explore the feasibility of putting the fire hall at the north end of the airport. Other sites are also being considered, among them a spot near the Lacombe Golf Course or on city-owned land east of the railroad tracks.
Coun. Don Gullekson first raised the issue of changing the fire hall site in a notice of motion proposing that the airport site be considered.
