HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -- A shortage of school bus drivers is impacting many districts across the country and those in central Pennsylvania are no strangers, so the question is, what can be done to help?
Well, PennDOT said in a statement, there have been discussions about whether or not to allow drivers to do part of their training virtually, but nothing has been decided yet.
"PennDOT has been in discussions about future training options, specifically the possibility of offering online training for school bus drivers," the statement reads. "PennDOT remains committed to enhancing driver education and ensuring the safety of our children on the roads."
That would allow those interested in being bus drivers to do part of it on their own time.
