PERRYSBURG, Ohio — The city of Perrysburg announced Friday it has chosen Deputy Chief Chris Sargent as the next chief of police, pending city council approval.

Sargent, who has been serving as interim police chief, joined the Perrysburg Police Division in 2021 as patrol operations lieutenant and was promoted to deputy chief in 2023.

“I’m proud to name Deputy Chief Chris Sargent as our next chief of police,” Mayor Tom Mackin said. “His strong leadership, commitment to community engagement and clear vision for public safety reflect the values of our city. I’m confident he will continue to build trust and keep our community safe.”
