MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Memphis Police Department responded to a shooting that took place early Friday morning.

At 6:58 a.m., MPD responded to an aggravated assault call on the 1300 block of Hyde Park Boulevard, according to MPD.

An unknown caller advised officers that a man had been shot six minutes earlier.

Police quickly located the victim, who was lying on the front porch of the residence, which was abandoned and dilapidated.

The victim was bleeding severely and had several gunshot wounds. The victim told officers that a suspect who allegedly goes by the name “Meatball” had shot him.

“Meatball” is allegedly of light complexion and around 30 years old. The victim was taken to Regional One in critical condition, where he is still currently getting treated.
