LAKEVIEW — Sometimes opening a season on the road can be a challenge for teams. However, that wasn’t the case for the Mason County Central varsity football team on Thursday as it made the trip to Lakeview.

The Spartans hopped off the bus on a mission and rolled to a 35-0 win over the Wildcats.

Mason County opened the scoring in the first quarter on a 50-yard run. It then added two touchdowns in the second quarter, taking a 20-0 lead into halftime.

In each of the next two quarters, the Spartans tallied a touchdown to secure the win.

Tyler Norton led Mason County Central’s attack with 166 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries.

Offensively, the Spartans received contributions from Kaden Ruiz (12 carries, 65 yards, one TD), Pierce Bladzik (6 for 14 passing, 91 yards, two TDs, one
