Money-saving guru Martin Lewis has debunked a popular myth that many drivers believe will get them extra fuel for free.
With the cost of petrol and diesel fluctuating in recent months due to the cost of living crisis and high inflation, no motorist relishes the idea of wasting money at the pump.
However, in advice shared on his Money Saving Expert website, Martin highlighted that filling up during the night is unlikely to give drivers more fuel for less money.
He stated: "Talk of filling up at night getting you more is a slight urban myth, as the difference is miniscule - pennies at best.
