With Labor Day upon Illinois residents, officials are urging attentive driving through the ongoing improvement project on the Interstate 24 Ohio River Bridge connecting McCracken County, Kentucky, and Metropolis, Illinois.

Construction on the bridge is taking place in three phases, with an expected completion date in September of 2027. The 2025 phase of construction is set to end in October.
