MUSKEGON, MI - The Handsome Hobo Restaurant & Bar at 1437 Whitehall Road has been a fixture in the Muskegon area since 2012.

Owner Hobart Thrasher Jr., affectionately known as Bo to those who know him, opened the eatery six years after establishing a tavern next door.

It began as a pizzeria featuring pasta dishes but has since evolved to offer a wider range of options, including seafood, wings, salads, soups, barbecue pork ribs, steak and sandwiches.

“It is all about using the highest quality, fresh ingredients,” he told MLive. “The dough is all homemade, as are the separate sauces for the New York and Chicago styles.”

Thrasher had initially planned to open a breakfast joint in the former restaurant building, which was once home to Mr. B’s Pancake House and the Wild Iron Chophouse.
