A man was killed in Seekonk on Friday morning after his car left Interstate 195 and hit several trees in a wooded median, officials said.
Joseph Gagliardi, 29, of Seekonk, was pronounced dead at the scene, the Bristol District Attorney’s office said in a statement.
Shortly before 1:30 a.m., a 911 caller reported that a car drove “at a high rate of speed” into the wooded median, officials said.
The crash caused “catastrophic damage” to the car, a Honda Fit.
Gagliardi was found separated from the car with “significant injuries,” officials said.
The crash is under investigation.
