A busy Midlothian road has been closed on Sunday afternoon after reports of a crash as police race to the scene.

Emergency services were made aware of the incident around 4.30pm on August 31. The crash took place on South Street in Dalkeith.

It has not yet been confirmed if there have been any injuries or how many vehicles were involved.

Police Scotland and paramedics remain at the scene.

A statement from the force reads: "South Street, Dalkeith is closed following a report of a crash which we were called to around 4.30pm on Sunday, 31 August, 2025.

"Emergency services are in attendance."
