LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - One person has been hospitalized after a crash near South 27th Street between Rokeby and Saltillo roads on Sunday.

According to LPD, a 37-year-old pedestrian was running southbound on South 27th Street when a southbound vehicle struck the runner from behind. The pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. No impairment of the driver is suspected at this time and no citations have been issued.

Police reported via social media at 6:58 a.m. that the area is shut down for the time being as they investigate a crash involving a vehicle and pedestrian.

LPD said the crash resulted in life-threatening injuries.
