A man has severe injuries after being struck by a car in East Hartford on Saturday night, police said.

Officers responded to a crash involving a pedestrian and a car in the 100 block of Main Street around 9:30 p.m.

Once in the area, police said they found a man with sever head injuries.

The man was taken to the hospital for further treatment.

The investigation is active and ongoing. The driver of the vehicle involved is cooperating with police.
