SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) - Governor Larry Rhoden is mobilizing SD National Guardsmen at Donald Trump's request.

According to a press release, Rhoden is mobilizing 12 guardsmen from the 129th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment based in Rapid city.

“South Dakota stands in solidarity with President Trump," Rhoden said in a press release.

The mobilization is under the command of the D.C. National Guard, and the army guardsmen will activate on a Title 32 status, the press release said.

Title 32 means the guardsmen are under state authority but funded by the federal government.
