The state of Tennessee recently released its annual suicide prevention report, and suicide rates in Hamilton County are on the rise.

Suicide rates in Hamilton County increased the most of any region in the state at 56% within just one year.

That number is taken from Tennessee's 2025 Suicide Prevention Report, but uses data collected from 2022 to 2023.

The report stated that Tennessee's rate exceeds the national average, and that suicide is the 11th leading cause of death in both the Volunteer State and across the country.
