MILAN, Ohio — Three people died Sunday in two fatal crashes on the Ohio Turnpike, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported.
The first crash occurred at 6:41 a.m. when an eastbound truck, operated by Anthony Jenson, 31, of Indianapolis, went off the road and hit a tow truck that was stopped on the shoulder with its emergency lights activated.
The tow-truck driver, who was not in the vehicle, was not injured. Mr. Jenson was transported to Mercy Health Lorain Hospital. His passenger, Dantrail Reese, 32, also of Indianapolis, died at the scene, the patrol’s Lt. Brett Gockstetter said.
The second crash occurred at 7:34 a.m. in the traffic backed up from the first incident. A minivan struck a tanker truck being driven by Jesse Williams, 43, of Sparta, Wis.
