IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - With just 48 team passing yards vs. Albany, Iowa had to turn to the running game.
The team totaled 310 rushing yards throughout the game. 122 of those yards belonged to a redshirt freshman, Xavier Williams.
When the starting running back, Kamari Moulton, went down with an injury, Williams found himself with an opportunity to get a workload that was unexpected.
“I was expecting to get a little bit, but I wasn’t really sure what to expect. It’s the first game. I wasn’t sure what the rotation would look like. I was just trying to stay ready for whatever,” said Williams.
