Sodaville, Ore. - Lebanon firefighters are recovering from bee stings after battling a natural cover fire on Friday.

The fire broke out in the 3100 block of Sodaville Road on Friday evening, August 29, 2025.

According to the Lebanon Fire District, the fire quickly expanded from a small field fire to encompass three acres, involving brush and trees. Firefighters, along with the Oregon Department of Forestry, worked to halt the fire's progress.

The incident commander called for additional resources, resulting in a 2nd Alarm upgrade. The fire was contained within 20 minutes.

No injuries were reported, but several firefighters " complained of receiving multiple stings after encountering angry bees as their nests were being disturbed."
