NORTH BEND, Ore. - A 57-year-old North Bend man was arrested early Wednesday morning following reports of criminal mischief at the Southwest Oregon Regional Airport in North Bend, according to the North Bend Police Department.
North Bend police officials said that officers responded just past 5:30 a.m. on Sept. 3 to reports of criminal mischief involving multiple aircraft at the airport. Officers discovered that 11 aircraft had been tampered with, and one plane had been moved from its hangar. A suspect, identified as Melvin Myhill, was found inside one of the planes and taken into custody without incident.
Myhill faces multiple charges, including 11 counts of criminal mischief and burglary. He was booked into the Coos County Jail and later released for a mental health evaluation at Bay A
