HOOVER, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Authorities in Hoover say an 8-year-old boy tragically died Saturday night, Aug. 31 when he was found unresponsive in a pool.
Hoover Police and Fire were called to a residence in the 2000 block of River Lake Drive in the Southlake subdivision around 8 p.m. after an 8-year-old boy was found unresponsive in a pool.
The boy was pulled from the pool and police say life-saving measures were attempted, but sadly, the boy was pronounced dead at an area hospital.
The cause of the drowning is under investigation by Hoover PD detectives and the Shelby County Coroner’s Office, but police say no foul play is expected and the incident is being investigated as a tragic accident.
