BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR/KMOT) – A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries early Sunday morning in Bismarck after fleeing from a traffic stop and crashing into the median, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The report from the patrol states a Burleigh County deputy tried to pull the motorcyclist over shortly before 12:30 a.m.
The patrol said the driver fled south on State Street from I-94 at a high rate of speed but struck the curb between the north and southbound lanes and was tossed from the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, a 28-year-old Bismarck man, was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The state patrol is investigating the crash, and Burleigh County will investigate any criminal charges against the driver.
